Berry Manor Boarding Home (BMBH) was founded in 2024 by Deanna Miller-Berry, a South Carolina advocate known for transforming personal adversity into structural solutions.  What began as advocacy for vulnerable families has evolved into a first-of-its-kind supportive housing stabilization model serving veterans, elders, medically complex adults, and individuals in crisis.

From Advocacy to Infrastructure

Deanna Miller-Berry earned recognition as “The Fighting Mom” through her work advocating for medically fragile families, environmental justice, and equitable access to care.  Rather than stopping at advocacy, she built infrastructure.

BMBH was created to address a systemic gap: individuals who are medically stable but housing unstable — those who do not require institutionalization, yet cannot safely return home.
